Masterbatch for Cable Insulation layer

    Color masterbatch for cable insulating material is an important variety of color masterbatch, which is mainly used for coloring the polyethylene insulation layer of communication cable core wire. Use the color of the core wire to identify the cable pair, so as to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the wire pair joint

The following features are required for the selection of pigments according to the insulation requirements of communication cables:
Maintain the strength of the transmitted signal;
Meet the requirements of cable extrusion process;
Prevent wear after passing new: resistant to petrolatum
Contact with chemicals - chemical resistance

Since the insulation layer of the extrusion layer of the communication cable is very thin, generally 0.4-0.6mm, and the thinnest is only 0.16-0.2mm. In order to make the addition amount of the color masterbatch as small as possible (reduce the influence on the electrical properties) and make the insulating layer not reveal copper, the content of iron white powder and pigment in the color masterbatch is high to maintain good hiding power and 1.5% ~2% addition. The content of TiO2 white powder in cable masterbatch white is as high as 60% to 70%, and the content of pigment and Tio2 white powder in other color masterbatches is as 35% to 50%.

In order to be suitable for high-speed and thin-layer extrusion of communication cables, the carrier in the color masterbatch should be selected with low density polyethylene (LLDPE) is better, which requires a narrow molecular weight distribution and a lower melt index.
